EstateHounder ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
EstateHounder does not require an account and does not collect or store personal information on our servers. Specifically:
Research history and shopping list. Item names, AI-generated research results, and photos you take or select are stored only on your device (in local app storage). We never receive or store this data on our servers.
Photos. When you identify an item, your photo is sent to our server so it can be forwarded to Anthropic's Claude AI for analysis. We do not retain a copy of the photo after the response is returned to your device.
Usage data. Free-tier usage and purchased credit counts are tracked locally on your device only. We do not track detailed usage analytics or sell behavioral data.
Payment information. Subscriptions and credit packs are purchased through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple processes your payment; we never see or store your card details.
The only information that passes through our servers is the photo and any notes you submit for identification, which are forwarded to Anthropic's Claude AI to generate your research result and then discarded. We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not use your data for advertising.
Photos you take or select are sent to Anthropic's Claude AI for identification and appraisal. Anthropic processes these images in accordance with their own privacy policy. We do not keep a copy — your device is the only place your research history and photos are stored.
Your research history, shopping list, and free-tier usage are stored locally on your device (browser localStorage on the web, or app storage on iOS). This data never leaves your device except for the single photo/notes exchange described above.
We use the following third-party services:
• Anthropic Claude API — for AI item identification. Subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
• Apple In-App Purchase — for subscription and credit-pack payments on iOS. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
• Vercel — for hosting. Subject to Vercel's Privacy Policy.
Because we don't hold accounts or server-side data, there is nothing on our servers to access or delete. You can clear your research history and shopping list at any time from within the app, or by deleting the app. To manage or cancel a subscription, use your Apple ID's subscription settings.
EstateHounder is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on our website or sending you an email.
